Controversial Social Issues
As we mature into young adults and pursue higher education, controversial social issues often begin to grab our attention and affect our view of the world.  Whether we choose to give up eating meat, avoid wearing furs, or stop driving gas-guzzling SUVs, most of us will eventually take a stand on a controversial social issue and examine, if not change, an important fact of our life. What controversial social issue has become important to you?
Write a multi-paragraph essay addressed to an admissions officer in which you discuss a controversial social issue that has become important to you or caused you to rethink how you live your life. Be sure to include specific details and examples to support your ideas. (3 paragraphs)
As you write, remember your essay will be scored based on how well you:

  • develop a multi-paragraph response to the assigned topic that clearly communicates your controlling idea to the audience.

  • support your controlling idea with meaningful examples, reasons, and information based upon your research or readings.

  • organize your essay in a clear and logical manner, including an introduction, body, and conclusion.

  • use well-structured sentences and language that are appropriate for your audience.

  • edit your work to conform to the conventions of standard American English

    1. As i got older i believed it is better to stop buying animals if your income isn't rite, and places were no pets are wanted. I say this because a lot of animals are being neglected because of money issues. Also because you are tired of how much money your spending raising the pet. Last but not least moving into a a house, apartment, condo, or much more were oets are not wanted.
I say this because my own pet cat got thrown out because of moving into a new place. So i felt bad after and i wanted to know if i was the only one. so i went online and researched and it was really sad, and shocking. I found out that at least 6-8 million dogs and cats have been neglected in a year.
That is a very high number of pets to be thrown out. I mean think about it how about is that were human beans just getting thrown out and dying. I do not think that would be to good and it mite can be enough to make the human population go low. So all I am trying to say is if you know that you can no take care a pet for there full life spans. Then please do not buy a pet that's gone end up getting neglected.
